How long will my consultation be?
Consultations will vary in length, depending on the nature of your injury, and amount of areas of the body to be assessed and the Physiotherapy management required. The majority of Sports Physiotherapy consultations are approximately 1 hour. It’s probably a good idea to schedule in a little extra time at the physiotherapy practice so we can take the time we need to give you an accurate diagnosis, explain your injury and management plan and provide suitable physiotherapy treatment.
Our Sports Physiotherapy centre is largely open-plan in design, although we do have a private physiotherapy room if you would like. Please just let us know if you require greater privacy when you book, or at any time during your physiotherapy consultation.
What do I need to bring to my consultation?
Please bring appropriate clothing for the physiotherapy assessment of your injury, e.g shorts, singlet or sports top for ladies.
You may also wish to bring your sporting footwear to be assessed. If you are under 18 years of age, please bring an adult with you for your initial physiotherapy appointment.
If you have had any X rays or previous scans please bring them with you to your appointment.
When do I pay for my consultation?
Payment is expected at the time of the physiotherapy consultation. Benefits from your private health fund can be claimed at the time of your physiotherapy treatment. Just provide our physiotherapy reception staff with your fund swipe card.
If you have been referred by your GP under the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) team plan, you are asked to pay your bill at the time of your consultation and then take your invoice to a Medicare office to claim your rebate. Please be aware that this rebate is not the full amount of your consultation fee.
